Day 155: Psalms 47:1-3
NKJ Psalm 47:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
Lord You invite and encourage us to celebrate Your victory. Because of You we win! As a man cheers for his own team and shouts when his people, his team wins the victory, so we shout in praise because You, O God have won the victory over sin and death, over evil and all its minions. You say to evil, “Thus far and no farther will you go!” One day You will bring a full and final end to every evil influence over Your children and over the entire universe.
Even in this life, we see some evidence of Your victory, though it will not be complete until heaven. We see people come to know your salvation through Your Son, our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We see wickedness retreating on many fronts, but we also see evil men prevailing in many matters and at times it seems overwhelming. But as You open our eyes of faith, we get it. You show us enough evidence to teach our hungry and thirsty souls the truth. In Jesus, we win!
The wrong shall fail. The right will prevail with Christ’s peace on earth goodwill to men. Hallelujah! God reigns. It is His reign that will bring true peace and not a sword. We cannot and will not restrain our joy. We clap. We shout. We sing.
Through Christ alone, Amen!
