Introduction

James Robert “Jim” Simoneau was born in Hialeah, Florida in 1953, but grew up in South Carolina, where he became a Christian at 9 years old under the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship, the third of four sons of a Presbyterian Church in America ruling elder. Dr. Simoneau is married to the former Susan Cathey, also the daughter of a Presbyterian Church in America ruling elder, and they have five children, Christopher (deceased), Joy, Joel (Wife Hayley), Jonathan (Wife Hannah), and Laura (Husband Wilson). They currently have 10 grandchildren and one on the way.

The Lord has blessed Dr. Simoneau and his family to see much growth both personally and in their churches. They have had numerous ministry opportunities and seen much rich fruit in the lives of others. While God has taken them through many trials and challenges, He continues to strengthen and use them in His service.

Pastor Simoneau has been blessed to be able to serve the Lord and His people as a Senior Pastor of four churches since 1980. Three churches in SC for about 7 years each and Young Meadows PCA church in Montgomery, Alabama for the 15 years.

He is currently a member of Providence Presbytery and is serving as the Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship of North Alabama (CEF of NAL).

Why Are We Here?

  • One of the greatest needs for each person is to draw near to God through the Lord Jesus Christ
  • The Word of God and prayer are tools God has given us to help us pray
  • David in the Psalms and Paul in the New Testament give us many models of prayers that can help us learn how to pray.
  • My desire is for the reader to read these prayers and then journal their own prayers flowing from God’s work in their own hearts.
