God overcomes our fears in every situation!

Day 151: Psalms 46:2-3

            Psalm 46:2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah. 

            Lord, it does not matter how dark the night, how violent the storm, how crushing the oppression of the enemy. Even through earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, and floods, You are still directing all that happens. Since You are for us no one else can ultimately overcome us. The apostle Paul felt the crushing weight of his trials, but during the trials, he also knew Your help. In II Corinthians 4:11 Paul says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed — 10always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”

            No matter how terrible our personal lives or even the very creation itself may shake, shudder and falter, still, You, our God, are on Your throne with plans for the good of His people.  You rule and reign with perfect wisdom and strength. Your timing is perfect. You never fail! This knowledge and Your Holy Spirit use these truths to overcome our fears!

            Lord God, You have helped me through the troubles and trials of my life. Even to this day, You help me. You give me wisdom and courage and patience and love. You give me the faith to trust You in the midst of trouble and despair.  Again and again, You have been my strength when my strength has failed.

            All praise and thanks to the Triune God revealed to us through the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
