Lord, You have loved us and brought us to You!

Day 147:  Psalms 45:10 – 11

Psalm 45:10 Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; Forget your own people also, and your father’s house; 11So the King will greatly desire your beauty; Because He is your Lord, worship Him.

O Lord Jesus, we are the bride of Christ. You have sought us for Yourself and loved us with everlasting love. You have given us evidence of Your love and proved that You care for us, will provide for us, and see us through all our trials. You have shown us the riches of Your kingdom and the glories of Your presence and invited us to live with You forevermore.

You saved us from our sin and despair, our anguish, frustration, and distress to bring us to a place of hope, peace, and joy. You cleansed us and restored us and brought us to Your banqueting table. Indeed, Your banner over us is a banner of love and delight.

You have won our hearts as a suitor seeks out and woos his love. You have called us to Yourself, away from other false lovers who would hurt and destroy us. You have bid us come to You.

Somehow, in spite of our imperfections, our sins, and our foolishness, You have chosen us. There is nothing good in us that made You choose us. It is all Your love. You have delighted in us. You sing over us and hold us close in Your arms. You count us as precious in Your sight. Such knowledge is too amazing for us.

What can we do but love You, worship You, serve You and give You all that we are and all that we possess? Your love makes us love. Your Spirit allows and directs us so that we can love You with pure love, true love, and lasting love. Even though we are imperfect in this life, we are delighted to give ourselves to You. We love You, Lord Jesus Christ, our perfect, eternal, and truly only Son of God, King of all kings and Lord over all lords. We worship You and adore You. We recommit our lives to loving and serving You.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
