We are Weak, But You are Strong

Day 121  Psalm 40:16-17

Psalm 40:16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, “The LORD be magnified!” 17But I am poor and needy; Yet the LORD thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.

Lord, let my trouble and Your deliverance be a help to others in their times of need. May they see Your help and deliverance to me and know that You will also help and deliver them. May they rejoice with me over Your great salvation to Your children. Let everyone who seeks You rejoice and be glad in You. Let those who rejoice in Your salvation praise and magnify Your name.

If it were up to me, I would fail. I am weak and needy. But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Indeed, Your strength is made perfect in and through my weakness (II Corinthians 12:9-10). Therefore, I will boast in my weakness, but especially in Your strength Psalm 34:2. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

I am poor and needy. Apart from You, I can do nothing. But You think about me. You pray for me, Lord Jesus (Hebrews 7:25). You know my name (John 10:3). You love me with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). You have promised to never leave me, nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).

You alone are my Help and Deliverer, my Strength, and my Shield. You are the One who sets me free. O Lord, hear my prayer. O Lord, help me in my distress. Do not let the evil one triumph over me or turn my heart from You. Be with me and with all those who love Your name. Do not let the evil one or his many associates use me or your children to bring dishonor to Your name.

In Jesus name alone I pray.

            Amen.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
