Your Works and Thoughts toward Us are Wondrous Beyond Number

Day 117  Psalms 40:5

Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.

Almighty and triune God, Your works are too numerous to count. You have created, directed, and perfectly organized every particle of the universe. You have designed the way that all these particles and forces hold together. You control every detail and the vastness of the whole creation. You control and direct the various pieces, the subplots, the master themes from the least to the greatest. John 21:24-25 speaks of all Christ did at his first coming. “This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.” 25And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”

Lord, Your thoughts toward me are good and not evil. Your thoughts to all Your children are more numerous than I can count, more wonderful than I can conceive. I Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Wondrous God, glorious God, mighty God, eternal God whose ways are beyond finding out, whose justice is like mountains and love is like oceans. Your greatness is unsearchable. O what is man that You take notice of him?

I praise You, O Lord for the revelations of Your glory, Your majesty, and Your might works of creation. Thank You for opening our eyes that we might see You in the midst of all Your works. Thank You for including us to know You and the wonders of Your works.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
