It is a blessing to trust in God More than Men.

Day 116  Psalms 40:4

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Lord, help us not only to rejoice in Your forgiveness, but continue to trust You even when we stand in front of those who are proud, arrogant, and lying. As Your Son stood calmly before the lies of His accusers, as the apostle Paul stood boldly for the truth. So let me, let us, let all Your people trust You and resist and overcome the evil One and His many schemes and those who are in his service whether intentionally or not.

Jesus had to even rebuke Peter at one point because Peter did not want Jesus to go to the cross. Give us the strength, if necessary, even to resist our friends when they have evil ideas. Let us not be men-pleasers or fear what men can do unto us. Give us courage. We are weak and often fear, but when You lead us we can be as bold as a lion.

In the matchless Name of Jesus Christ alone, Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
