The Blessed Deliverance and Certain Judgment

Day 103: Psalms 37:37-40

Psalm 37:37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace. 38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off. 39But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.

The one who lives by faith in You is made blameless by You (Galatians 3:11). He or she is made just, or righteous by faith and then seeks by that grace to walk in the good works that You have prepared for them (Ephesians 2: 8 – 10). For all those who follow You, there will be peace. It is the peace that passes understanding (See Philippians 4: 5 – 7). It is confidence in Your Sovereign rule and that You are working all things together for the good of Your children who are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). There will be joy and hope in You and every good thing.

On the other hand, the transgressors who refuse to repent of their evil and fail to seek You and trust and follow You will be altogether removed. The wicked who have loved their sin more than the God who made them and provided for them will be no more in the companionship of God’s children.

The time of peace and healing will come to those who have humbled themselves, confessed their sin, and find their strength in God alone. The day will come when all that evil has done will be undone. Even more than the coming of spring after a harsh winter, or the bright day after a dark and terrible storm, the day of of the full revealing of the glory of God will come and all the hurt, the hate, the presence of evil will be removed forever! Lo, the winter is passed.

In the interim, while we live and move in this fallen world, this veil of tears, You will deliver Your children who call on You in true repentance and faith. You will sustain us. You have sustained us through countless trials and sufferings. You have given us the strength of Your presence to see us through.

You have continued to help us and save us the wickedness of the world, the flesh, the devil, and his devices. You have continued to give us strength and guidance, wisdom, and truth. You have helped us. You are helping us, and You will help us and see us safely to our heavenly home.

You have given us faith and hope and joy, and we hope and trust and rejoice in You. To God alone be the glory forever and ever through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
