Strengthen the Righteous to Overcome Wickedness

Day 93: Psalms 36:10-12

Psalm 36:10 Oh, continue Your loving kindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart. 11Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away. 12There the workers of iniquity have fallen; They have been cast down and are not able to rise.

Lord, what You have begun, increase even more. Let Your lovingkindness continue to grow and prevail to Your people. Please let the love and grace that You have begun to reveal to Your children be seen more and more in them and through them. May they come to know more and more the height, depth, and breadth of Christ’s love as Paul prayed in Ephesians 3: 17 – 19.

As we grasp Your love, may we live in it, and may this love and grace produce the holiness and good works that You have prepared for us (Ephesians 2: 10). Let Your righteousness fill us and cause us to walk in righteousness before a watching world.

Please do not let the prideful and the unbelieving prevail. Do not let Your people give way to the devil and his ways. Strengthen us to stand before You. Do not let the hand of the wicked drive us away but let us stand before You. Let us triumph over evil in the name and power of the resurrected Christ. Do not let our enemies triumph over us, but remove their evil influence and cause Jesus to prevail. Turn our enemies into our friends by the transforming power of the gospel or turn them away into everlasting darkness. Do not let them gloat in their wickedness over our hurt, suffering or shame. Lift up the fallen who trust in You and bring down the evil ones who refuse to repent of their wickedness against You and against Your people.

            In Jesus name alone,

            Amen.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
