The Great and Mighty God Delivers Us

Day 80: Psalms 34:1-6

Psalm 34:1 A Psalm of David when he pretended madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.

Lord, what peculiar circumstances do we face in our various walks of life. Here, Your servant David was pretending to be crazy just to save his own life. In Your wisdom, You have designed twists and turns of this life that are full of intrigue. We plot and plan and devise, but it is You alone who deliver and save. Your servant David recognized this and so do we, Your people. Thank You for delivering us from those who would tear and destroy us.

Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. 4I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Lord, we rejoice in Your many deliverances of our lives. Again and again You have delivered us from spiritual, physical, and mental dangers against us. Sometimes we see it and sometimes we do not even know it. When we get to heaven we will see that You saved us many more times than we ever knew. Though we go through so many trials, still You have led us through them.

For all those times, whether we saw Your deliverance or not, we give You thanks and praise along with all those who have known Your grace and mercy in their lives.

We praise and thank Your Holy Name. Again and again, we say, let the Lord be praised. Let our hearts and lives be filled with Your praise. May people see us and take hope in Your deliverance for them. You are our God we boast in Your strength, in Your greatness, in Your deliverance. When we had no strength, You came to our rescue. Others who are weary and broken, needy and humbled by their circumstances in life will turn to You.

Lord, may others join us in praising You. Let us come together in our celebration of Your mighty rescues, Your deliverance, and Your help to Your children. Lord, let the peoples praise You. Let all the peoples praise You because You have heard our prayers. You have delivered our souls from death. We give testimonies to Your name that You have delivered us. We asked You for help and You heard our cry and set us free. All praise be to Your Name. You have set us free from all my fears.

Psalm 34:5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. 6This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

Lord, how we have heard this story again and again. You turned our faces to You. We sought Your face and You heard our prayers. You delivered us and did not abandon us to our enemies. There are multitudes without number that You have delivered from the evil one and his henchmen.

I cried out to You and You delivered me from those who had aligned themselves against me. They conspired together behind my back, but You did not let them prevail against me. Lord, I do not deserve Your kindness and Your mercy, but I thank and praise You for it. I am the poor man who cried to You and You delivered me. All praise be to Your name.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
