Day 75: Psalms 32:7-11

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Lord, You have sheltered me from my own sin and from all of its consequences. You have hidden me away from those who would attack me and seek my life, from the accuser of the brethren and even from the self-righteous. Because You have preserved me in the past, I know that You will see me through the trouble of this life. Though I will face this trouble, it cannot fully and finally overcome me, because Jesus Christ prevailed for me. You will deliver me and set me free. I sing songs of deliverance because You are my deliverer who has set me free.

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. 9Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

Lord, let me be open to Your teaching and correction, and instruction in righteousness. I need to see Your will and way and know how to walk in it. Help me have a teachable and diligent spirit. Help me not be stubborn and require much chastening before I seek Your face and do Your will. Help me not have to learn the hard way as much as possible.

I thank You for the times that You willingly took the time to correct me and guide me. Help me to continue to learn from You in the right spirit.

Psalm 32:10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.

Lord, for those who stubbornly refuse to confess their sin or deal with the evil within them, there is only trouble and hardship. For those who will not repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand, for those who will not humble themselves and soften their hearts, the pain and suffering from their sin will be even more severe.

But for all Your children who have come to You, repented of their sin, and softened their hearts by the working of Your Holy Spirit within them, there is a deep and abiding joy. We know that our God has not abandoned us, and we give You thanks and praise. You have shown us mercy. Help us also be merciful to others.

Psalm 32:11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

O God let Your people praise You, let all Your people praise You. Indeed, we will one day praise You with all the multitudes of heaven. We look forward to the day when You will perfect our praise. We will bring our greatest zeal and greatest efforts to magnify Your name.

You are our joy and crown and salvation, O Lord. In You, we put our trust. Let us never be ashamed. Help us serve and praise You as Your righteous children. In Jesus’ name alone we pray. Amen and Praise the Lord.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
