Praise for God’s Sovereign Rule and Strength for His Children

Day 65:  Psalms 29:10-11

Psalm 29:10 The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood, and the LORD sits as King forever. 11 The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.

O Triune God, You are the sovereign Lord over all that exists. You sit as Lord of all creation, both visible and invisible, every power, every force, every plane of existence. You reigned as the Lord when You flooded the whole earth for the sins and the corruption of mankind. You allowed the floods to go only where You directed while You preserved Noah, his family, and the animals alive. You are Lord God and there is no other. You are King of all kings over the Universe, Creator, Sustainer, and Director of all. You have reigned from eternity past and will reign to eternity future forever and ever without end. All the creation is moving to Your most holy ends. To You belongs all the worship and praise and glory. Help us give You the glory and honor that is due to You.

Lord, You who have created the earth and destroyed it through the flood, preserving Your people, You have the strength to help Your people prevail. You are Creator, Judge, Redeemer, Rescuer, and the only One who can and will bring Your children home.

Please receive the glory and praise that belongs to Your name, O Lord. Give Your people Your strength that comes by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Give them Your strength as a whole, but also each of us individually. Give us the strength that comes from knowing and trusting Christ, His death, and resurrection. Give us strength through Your most holy Spirit. Give us strength through the blessings of Your people and all the gifts that You give.

And through this strength of grace and faith, please bless Your people with Your peace. Help us not be frantic or sinfully worried, but resting in the strength that You give us, moving forward in God’s peace and strength.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
