God Will Deliver and Judge

Day 15:  Psalms 9: 11-12

Psalm 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. 12When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.

You are the mighty God. Lord, thank You for giving us Psalms, hymns, and all sorts of music to praise You (Colossians 3:16). Worship strengthens us and helps us fulfill our destiny to worship, serve and praise You together with Your people.

O Lord, enable us to praise You, to see You, to know You, to love You, to obey You. Help us have the heart and courage to boldly proclaim You in Your congregation and before a watching world (Ephesians 6:18-20; Psalm 111:1).

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones (Psalm 116:15). Lord, even in our most severe trials You are with us to sustain us and strengthen us, to teach us and make us more like our Savior (Romans 8:28-29). You have humbled us, but You have also taught us that in our weakness You are our strength. In our trials, we often find that Your strength is our only true strength (Deuteronomy 8:2-3). We are blessed by knowing that we are weak and that You are strong. It is only in Your strength that we overcome (I John 5:4 & 5).

O Lord, there will come a day when You judge the deeds of men’s flesh. Every man will give an account of the deeds done in the flesh (Romans 14:12; I Peter 4:5). Lord, show us our sin and grant us repentance (Acts 11:18).

But, Lord, if people will not repent of their sins against the Lord’s and His children, and His appointed leaders, if there is no fear of God before their eyes before it is too late cause their eyes to be opened and see the evil they have done against You.  If they will not repent, Lord, deal with them as You see fit. If they continue to refuse Your mercy and grace deal with their hardened hearts!

Lord, here the Psalmist prays for vengeance. How can I pray for anything less? Yet how can I pray for vengeance? Your example by Christ and Stephen is even to forgive those who kill us. But Jesus also pronounced judgment. Paul and John the Baptist, John the apostle in the book of Revelation, as well as many other Scriptures call on You to visit destruction upon Your enemies if they will not repent.

You are able to judge the wicked and deliver those You have favored and given righteousness. Deliver Your children and deal with those who attack us (II Peter 2: 4 -11).

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
