There will come a day when the evil man will be no more

Day 180:  Psalms 52:5-7

Psalm 52: 5God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.

O God, You will deal with their evil. All of those who do not repent and seek Your face will die in their sin. All of those who have refused to humble themselves, turn from their evil ways, and put their faith in Christ will die in their sin. Lord, we pray that they would repent and believe, but if they will not turn to You, deal with their sin and do not let them thwart the children of Christ.

Psalm 52:6 The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, 7“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.”

Lord, when we see that the wicked are punished and evil is destroyed, we are reminded of your holiness and we cry out like Isaiah [6:5], Lord, I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips. Lord, we do not deserve Your mercy and grace. If You should mark iniquities, who should stand? But there is forgiveness with You that You might be feared (Psalm 130:3-4).  We are in awe of Your holiness, Your justice, and Your purity.

We see those who do not tremble at the word of Your power and we laugh. They think they are wise, but they are fools (Romans 1:22). They trust their own strength and their own riches rather than trusting God.

God, thank You for all our blessings in Christ, including our possessions, but never let our blessings in Christ become more important than knowing Christ. May Jesus always the highest and truest treasure of our hearts. Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
