God Will Deliver Us

Day 172: Psalms 50:14-15

            Psalm 50:14 Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. 15Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.

            Lord, this is our calling as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ: to thank You from the heart, to keep our vows and commitments to You, and to seek You in our time of need that the world may know that You are our God. As Micah 6:8 says, He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

You created us to know You, to love you, but the human race fell into sin and we lost our way. But You did not give up on us. You sent us Your Word and Your Spirit to guide us. You gave us promises and proofs that You would redeem us, not by our works but by grace working through faith! We went our own way instead of Your way.

But Lord, You showed us Your way. You taught us to cry out to You by faith in Your love and deliverance. You give us the strength to face our troubles and trials. Your deliverance comes in so many ways. At times you remove our trials miraculously. At other times You deliver us through the trials and bring us safely to the other side of those trials. Sometimes You deliver us to our heavenly home and the final victory with Jesus Christ forever!

            In every case, it is You, O Lord, that delivers us so that we would be all that You called us to be, and that our life and deliverance would bring You glory and fulfill us as Your children!

            We pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
