God’s Word is Given for all People

Day 165: Psalms 49:1-4

Psalm 49:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, 2Both low and high, Rich and poor together.

Your truth, O God, is for all people, for all social groups and all races. All nations, all language groups need to listen to You. You alone have the words that lead to eternal life. Your Word alone is true and eternal. Open our ears that we may hear and understand. Do not let us turn a deaf ear to the only words that can save us and help us.

Help us hear Your Word and boldly speak Your Word to those in need.

Psalm 49:3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. 4I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp.

Lord, help me to know Your truth. Help me boldly and clearly proclaim Your truth. Let Your Spirit work in me in such a way that many hear and are transformed by the power of the good news of Jesus Christ. Help me clarify the truth in such a way that people love and follow You. Let the Words that I speak help my own heart and the hearts of all who hear me. Please use me to turn people from sin, hell, and the grave. Help me be Your instrument to turn them to You by Your grace, for Your glory, and with Your love. You have said in Your Word, He that wins souls is wise. Lord, please grant me that wisdom. Make me effective. Let my words not only bring judgment, but let my words be Your words, and may they bring life to all who hear, read, or in other ways receive them.

Help us trust Jesus the living Word who alone spoke perfectly to use His words to turn nations and peoples and tongues and tribes back to You. Use the words of my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us use music and art and other tools of communication to make Your truth known. May they come to know and believe that Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord to the glory of the Triune God. Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
