We Remember Your Mighty Works in and through Your People

Day 136: Psalms 44:1-2

Psalm 44:1 To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah. We have heard with our ears O God, Our fathers have told us, The deeds You did in their days, In days of old: 2You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; You afflicted the peoples and cast them out.

O God, we hear of the stories of Your great deeds and miraculous wonders for Your children through history: the miracles of the Red Sea, the fire from heaven and so much more in the Old Testament alone. We read of the eyewitness testimonies of the disciples and the sure and certain record of the gospels and the book of Acts concerning the many miracles of Christ and later His disciples. Through history, we have records of Your wondrous deeds and great revivals in and among your people. You have granted great revival, vast awakenings among the lost. For this and so much more we thank and praise You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, blessed forever! Amen!

Further, we have seen You establish Your people and give them the ability to lead the peoples and to remove those who brought pain and darkness to the land while establishing Your own children. You removed the evil and hurtful influences and let the goodness of Your truth shine brighter and brighter. How we long and pray for just and righteous leadership in our land again!

May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
