I need to remember again that God will help me and all His children.

Day 135: Psalm 43: 5

Psalm 43:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

God, I renew my prayer to my own heart. I need to hear and believe the self-talk that comes from knowing that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There is no good reason for me to be discouraged. You will overcome my enemies. You will see me through my trials. Again and again, You have proven Yourself in my life. Again and again, You have brought me through the dark waters and helped me stand. Again and again, people have spoken all manner of evil against me, yet You have kept Your Words and helped Your servant.

You are my hope and my stay. You will bring all Your children through their trials and bring us together as a holy group of spiritual survivors. You are the lifter of my head. I do not need to be downcast and discouraged. I need to lift my eyes to see and believe my Lord and Savior Jesus.

As You have helped all Your servants in times past, so You will help me. The Lord Jesus is our strength and He has become our song. You give me the confidence, the faith, and the strength to know You, to love You, and to follow You. All praise and glory be to Your most holy name.

            Through Jesus Christ alone, Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
