The Lord Gives So We Give

Day 100:  Psalms 37:25-29

Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. 26He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed. 27Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. 28For the LORD loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. 29The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell in it forever.

Father, You have always been the perfect father. You have given us life and have provided all our needs. We are Your children by virtue of creation. But Your love goes so much deeper because You not only provide our daily bread, but You also supply our spiritual, emotional, and physical needs according to Your most holy design.

Beyond Your Fatherhood through creation, You have also made us Your children by redemption. You sacrificed and sent Your only eternal Son to pay the ultimate price to purchase Your children from the cruelty, suffering, and final judgment due to their own sin. You have delivered them from the evil and final destruction. You have never forsaken any of Your children. Though they have walked through dark times, You have always stayed with them.

We, Your children, give testimony to Your grace in all these things. We have seen You provide not only for our needs but for all the needs of all Your children.

You are merciful and constantly give to us each day. You provide our daily bread and more. We are overflowing with spiritual, mental, and physical blessings from You. You give to us all that we have that we may be able to give to You in acknowledgment of our dependence on You and to help us reflect Your love to others.

We are able to give and our children are able to give. Thank You, O Lord, for letting all of my family be a part of Your kingdom work.

Lord, help us continue to put aside every evil from us. Help us to continue to depart from every form of evil and only do what is good and glorifying to You. Help us not only put off that which is evil. Help us more and more trust and follow You and see Your goodness grow in us to glorify the name of Jesus.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
