Day 94: Psalms 37:1-2
Psalm 37:1 A Psalm of David. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.
O Father, before the fall of man into sin, humanity enjoyed a blessed relationship with You. But with the fall of humanity, sin entered the world and brought all different types of evil into this creation. Humanity fell into wickedness and darkness and desperately needed You to save and redeem us. For so many people, wickedness prevailed, but You, O Lord gave the promise of a redeemer and savior that would rescue Your children. You promised that all who would trust in You would know this great salvation.
O God, do not let wickedness prevail against us, nor let their attacks overwhelm us with fear. Do not let us live in terror of our enemies, but rather in the certain knowledge and experience that even the worst of our enemies are controlled by Your hand. As with Job, they can only go as far as You allow. Help us trust You and not be afraid of what man can do to us.
Do not let us envy them for seeming to get away with their wickedness for a while. You will settle accounts in time. Help us not learn the ways of wickedness, but always walk in the light of Your truth. Those who refuse to repent will face Your judgment in Your time. They will be taken from us never to bother us again.
Help us not give in to the fears and the worries of the moment, but to trust You moment by moment and day by day to deal with any forces that rise against us as we seek to faithfully follow Your will. Help us live in the light of eternity.
Through Jesus Christ alone we pray! Amen!
Amen! đđť
