Day 94: Psalms 36:1
NKJ Psalm 36:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD. An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.
All wise, all-powerful, perfectly loving, and holy God, You have taught us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. You have also made it clear that without the fear of the Lord there is foolishness, transgression, and all manner of wickedness. You have shown us that in the foolishness of our sin, we deny God and mock God, and refuse to follow the revealed will of God. The wicked one thinks that by his barking and braying that he can remove the influence of God from all life, but he is merely seeking to suppress the truth he knows about God. It is the fool who has said in his heart, “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). Unless he repents, he will perish in his foolishness and face the wrath of Almighty God.
Oh God, let him repent. Let him fall before You and tremble before it is too late. You have redeemed us, Your children, from the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of light. Redeem them also. Grant them the gift of repentance. Let them kiss the Son lest He be angry, and they perish in the way. As the Apostle Paul prayed for Israel that they might be saved, so we pray for our nation and all the nations of the earth. You have promised that You would save some from every tongue and tribe and nation. You have promised that their number would be like the sands on the sea.
So multiply Your people God, expand the kingdom of Christ, let them come in like a godly flood. Let the nations rejoice. Send times of refreshing to Your people and give us fresh courage and zeal to boldly proclaim the name of the Lord. Let us be like the stars in the heavens and let us lead many to Christ’s righteousness.
As You have brought about great times of revival and awakening in times past through the ministry of Your Word and Your Holy Spirit, so send these times again. Hear our cry, O Lord. Help us stand against the evil schemes of men and let them not prevail against us.
Amen!🙏🏻
