Day 92: Psalms 35:22-26
Psalm 35:22 This You have seen, O LORD; Do not keep silence. O Lord, do not be far from me. 23Stir up Yourself, and awake to my vindication, To my cause, my God and my Lord. 24Vindicate me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness; And let them not rejoice over me. 25Let them not say in their hearts, “Ah, so we would have it!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.” 26Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me.
Lord, before the foundation of the world, You had perfect harmony and community within the Godhead. There was perfect love and fellowship, communication, and agreement within the Trinity. You created humanity that we might have fellowship with our Triune God. But Satan brought temptation and in Adam’s fall, we sinned all. Ever since that the fall of humanity has divided us from You, from ourselves, and from one another. If not for Your grace and mercy revealed in Jesus and Your redemption we would have no hope. Our enemies that have sided with the evil one and tried to cause us to lose our faith and trust in You. They have attacked with all sorts of evil devices.
Lord, let them see that we have been faithful to You through the faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let them see the coldness of their hearts and repent of their evil ways. We know that one day, You will make all things right.
You vindicated Your Son. You did not let wicked men prevail against Him. But we are weak. We are frail. Do not let our enemies triumph over us. Do not let us be overcome by evil but enable us to overcome evil with the supernatural goodness that comes from knowing Christ alone.
May those who have attacked and mocked Your servants be clothed with shame and dishonor. May they either humble themselves in true repentance from within that shows by changed lives, or may You bring them down for their evil against Your children.
Amen! 🙏🏻
