God Help Us Against False Accusers

Day 86:  Psalms 35:7-10

Psalm 35:7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, Which they have dug without cause for my life. 8Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly, And let his net that he has hidden catch himself; Into that very destruction let him fall.

Father, sinful people, and forces of evil sought to do this to Jesus, Your Son. They kept trying to capture Him in some sin or error or fault. In the end, they even lied about what he said and falsely accused Him. As You thwarted their efforts to overcome Him, so thwart their efforts to overcome those of us who trust in You. And if they will not cease and desist their ways, please remove their influence by whatever means You think necessary, O Lord. If they will not come to You in repentance and faith, then let them be caught in their own lies and conspiracies and let the troubles they sought for others come on their own heads.

Lord, You have given us many real-life illustrations of those who would not repent but continued in their evil ways. You showed us Judas who would not repent, and he came to his own terrible ending without God and without hope. His own money and plotting destroyed him in the end. You showed us Ananias and Sapphira who sought to plot against the Lord and His church, and they paid the ultimate price for their evil. You showed us plots by wicked men against your apostle, Paul that failed.

Paul had conspired against You before he repented of his sin. But You touched him and transformed him. He repented of his sin and You used him mightily to build the kingdom of God. So, Lord, I pray, please convert those who would stand against Your people or remove their evil influence and make them ineffective in stopping the advance of the kingdom of Christ.

In the strong Name of Jesus, I pray! Amen!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
