Teach Me Jesus and Help Me Grow

Day 49: Psalms 25: 4-7

Psalm 25:4 Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. 5Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

Lord Jesus, You taught Your disciples while You walked on earth. You showed them Your will and Your way. Praise the Lord! You used them to write Your Word.

O most wondrous God, show us Your will and Your way and help us follow You moment by moment and day by day. Jesus, help us hear You through Your Word and Your Holy Spirit even as You told us that Your sheep hear Your voice, and You know them and they follow You. Lord, help us hear Your voice speaking to us through Your Word and guiding us through Your Holy Spirit that we might obey and follow Your revealed Word and apply it most specifically to every situation in our lives.

We ask that You not only show us but that You lead us. As Moses prayed to You, Lord, unless You lead us we cannot go forward. Yet O Lord You promised that You would lead Your sheep out to greener pastures. You lead us beside quiet waters. You restore our souls.

Teach me, O Lord. How can I lead and teach Your people unless You lead and teach me?  You are the God of my salvation. You are my only hope. Lead me and guide me into all Your truth. Help me faithfully seek You through all my life and forever!

Psalm 25:6 Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses, For they are from of old. 7Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.

Lord, see me through the righteousness of Jesus. Because of His love and mercy, because of His tenderness and compassion to sinners, O Lord, remember me. Because He has purchased me with His blood and His sacrifice, O Lord, remember me.

You never change and Your love for Your children is from everlasting to everlasting on Your children and to children’s children and beyond to every generation.

Lord, do not hold the sins of my youth against me. Forgive my own children. Protect them from their own sins and help them not be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with Your goodness, with Your Holy Spirit, and the gifts of faith and repentance.

See me through Jesus’ love and grace alone, I pray, as I pray for all Your children.

            In Jesus name alone,

            Amen.

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
