The Blessings Of God as Our Shepherd

Day 45: Psalms 23:4-6

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

Lord Jesus, You have walked through the valley of the shadow of death. By Your infinite power, righteousness, and love You overcame sin, death, and the grave. You rose again from the dead because You truly are Lord of all! Because You did overcome sin, death, and the grave, all those who trust in You can know for certain that they have eternal life! All praise be to Your Name.

Almighty God this Your victory is personal to me and my family! Lord, You have walked our family through death and hardship. You have kept our eyes fixed on Jesus. Though we may have stumbled along the way, You have kept us on the path of life. You have been with us through the valley of the shadow of death. Because of You, death is not the end! Your Presence has helped us in the darkest times and caused us to rejoice in the times of life and celebration.

Even when my enemies attacked, You provided peace in the midst of the tears, hope in the midst of frustration. Your presence is the key. You are my exceedingly great reward. You are with me. I do not need to fear even death itself. You give me comfort by the tokens of Your presence through Your Holy Spirit, including the gifts of faith and repentance, the comfort and truth of Your Word and prayer, the fellowship of the saints and more!

Psalm 23:5b You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

Lord, You have lifted me up out of my distresses and brought me to a peaceful place. You have given me hope from my despair. Even the hardest parts of this life will one day be gone. One day I will live in heaven with You forever in perfect beauty, in perfect joy, and in perfect delight with all those who love the Lord. But for now, You continue to help me. You have given me more than I need and filled me with so many of the blessings that help me. All praise goes to Your name, O Lord. Thanks be to God forevermore!

Jesus Christ brought me to Himself at a very early age. I began seeking the Lord and writing prayer journals in my early teens and have continued to grow in my knowledge and experience of prayer. I am still learning and growing in my prayer life and long to help others grow in their prayer lives as well. I am not an expert, but a practitioner who needs God to continue to teach me to pray. Prayer is both simple, yet also profound. It is deep and draws us into the depth of God, but it is also so easy and wondrous that we can cry out to God with "Abba, Father" prayers because of the work of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Prayer comes from God's heart, works in our hearts, and teaches us to go back to seek God's heart!
