Day 36: Psalms 19:1-8
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork.
Lord, the very existence of creation shows Your glory! It tells that You are God. It shows the amazing nature of Your wisdom, power, beauty, and vast dominion.
You created and control the vastness of the galaxies with billions and billions of stars including the details of the microscopic world down to the smallest specks. You control all the forces and dimensions throughout all the universe, throughout all existence! We have only begun to discover the knowledge hidden in the universe. The creation has Your glorious over, around, and through all existence. No one but You, O Lord, could do this.
Psalm 19:2 Day unto day utters speech and night unto night reveals knowledge.
Lord, each day tells that You are God, the glorious Creator. Time and space, day and night, the order, the direction, the symphony of the universe is perfectly in tune. As we observe, as our ears, eyes, minds, and hearts are open, we learn about You in creation. You teach us through its every particle, every force, and every dimension.
Psalm 19:3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
From Israel to Nigeria to Kenya to the United States, from Antarctica to the Arctic, from Saudi Arabia to China, London to Indonesia, Australia to Alaska, Your creation tells all of humanity, all living beings, all that can perceive, that You are the glorious God and Creator.
Psalm 19:4 Their line has gone through all the earth and their words to the end of the world.
Lord, Your creation tells us about You — to young and old, rich and poor, wise and foolish. Your creation speaks to tell all beings that You are the glorious Lord God.
Psalm 19:5 In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun.
Lord, each day the sun comes forth and continually Your Son reveals more and more of His glory throughout all creation, by redemption, salvation, yes, and even in judgment.
Psalm 19:5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
Lord, each day the Son of God fulfills His calling and destiny, even as the earth rotates around the sun.
Psalm 19:6 Its rising is from one end of heaven and its circuit to the other end and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
Lord, Your plan for life, for light, for darkness, for hot and cold, for forces beyond our comprehension is overwhelming. Thank You, O Lord.
Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting, or restoring the soul.
Lord, Your Word has power: power to condemn and destroy or power to bring life. Your Word, by the power of the Holy Spirit can show us the way of life and the sacrifice of Christ for our sins, our call to holiness and the grace we need to walk in obedience.
Psalm 19:7 The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple,
As I hear and see and understand Your Word, I grow wiser and more able to cope, to believe, to trust, and obey You. Make me wiser still, O Lord.
Psalm 19:8 The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.
Lord, Your Word is true and this strengthens me, blesses me, encourages me. Truth does exist. It is knowable, as You, O Lord, are knowable.
Psalm 19:8 The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Open my eyes, Lord, the eyes of my heart to Your reality. Show me life, O Lord.
Growing in Prayer
